General guidance for assembling our architectural model kits. Always read the instructions included with your specific kit first, as steps vary by design.
Before you start
- Adult hobby kit — not a toy, and not suitable for children under 14. Kits contain small parts and laser-cut edges.
- Work on a flat, well-lit surface and keep small parts away from young children and pets.
- Lay out all sheets and check them against the parts list before removing any pieces.
General steps
- Press each part out of its sheet gently, supporting the area around the piece to avoid stress fractures.
- Lightly sand any rough edges if needed (fine-grit paper).
- Dry-fit the main structure before applying any glue, to confirm orientation.
- Apply glue sparingly to tabs and slots, following the included diagrams.
- Hold or clamp joints until set before moving on to the next section.
Tools that help
A craft knife, tweezers, fine sandpaper, and a small clamp or clothes pegs make assembly easier, though most kits can be completed with just your hands and the included parts.
